Dear performing artist/ colleague / teacher / enthusiast,
On Thursday, May 4th 2023, the research team will organize the research seminar: Resilient Artists: how can we support the mental resilience of young performing artists? at the Bourlaschouwburg in Antwerp.
The topic of mental health is getting increasingly important in our society. As such, the taboo surrounding the mental wellbeing of professional performing artists is, slowely but surely, being broken. For four years, we conducted research regarding the various challenges performing artists are faced with and how their mental resilience can be strengthened to cope with these challenges.
During the seminar, we will present the results of this 4-year research project as well as a present a corresponding prevention program that is currently implemented at the Royal Antwerp Conservatoire (RCA).
This seminar is organized by the Applied Psychology department of AP University College as well as the Royal Antwerp Conservatoire. Next to the presentation of the research results, there will also be contributions from guest speakers.
